Frequently Asked Questions

Is FlipFrames free?
Yes! Everything you see on the site right now is free – even the prizes (you'll use your Check$ to redeem those prizes). Later, you'll be able to purchase exclusive frames for 100 Check$ (or $1.00). But until then, absolutely everything is free. If you're worried about how we make enough money to survive, we make that from advertising.

What is a label?
Labels tell the story of your picture. You can drag & drop labels for where, when, who, and what is in your picture. There are 4 types of item labels to tell viewers what's in your picture: There's a "things" label that you can use to identify just about anything. Other labels include "toys," "threads," and "wheels." Use the toys label to describe your sweet toys like your iPod, cell phone, guitar, or basketball. Use the threads label to describe clothing, accessories, or jewelry. And use the wheels label to describe your car, motorcycle, or individual parts of your vehicle(s). If you use the specialized thread or wheel labels, in the future you'll be invited to join a special social network devoted to these particular interests. Check back soon to see when we launch! Remember to try and be accurate and fill out as much information as possible when you're creating a label.

Why is accuracy in labeling helpful?
Accurate labeling will help us define your search and pull in only the most relevant FlipFrames for you to view. For example, if you label one of your shirts as a Prada shirt, we will then be able to pull up your FlipFrame if someone happens to search for "Prada."

How do I add my FlipFrame to my MySpace page?
There are a couple of ways to add your FlipFrame to your MySpace page: 1) You can copy and paste the code from our website directly on to your MySpace profile, or 2) You can have your FlipFrame automatically added. What are CheckMyThreads.com and CheckMyWheels.com?
FlipFrames was created by the coolest company around – UserMade Studios. UserMade is currently working on 2 other social networks that use FlipFrames. However, on CheckMyThreads the FlipFrames are known as Thread Shows. And on CheckMyWheels, the FlipFrames are known as Car Shows. On both these networks, you'll be able to connect with other people that share the same interests (Fashion / Cars & Motorcycles). These sites use your photos to show off your interests, allow you to receive input & advice, and make friends with people who are interested in the same things you are. There are way more features on these networks than on FlipFrames, and lots more ways to earn Check$, so check them out! Remember: Check$ are good on all UserMade sites.

If I create an account at FlipFrames.com, will you share my information with other companies?
No. Your personal information is private and will NOT be shared with any outside parties. We only collect basic information for identification purposes you when you login. If you choose to provide information to other users via messages or in your profile, that's up to you. Why are some of the frames locked?
Some of the frames show a "locked" symbol because they must be purchased with Check$. Once you earn enough Check$, you can purchase a locked frame and use it as many times as you'd like. If you mouse-over or click on a locked frame in Step 1, the price is shown right above the display frame in the center of the page. Remember that the price of a frame goes up as it's popularity increases. This means that more popular frames are more expensive, so in order to get the best price on a frame you like, you should buy it early!

Once I create my FlipFrame, can I change it later?
Currently, you cannot edit your FlipFrames, but in a few days, we'll have that functionality. As long as you've registered, your FlipFrames will be saved and you can come back and edit them at any time after we release the "edit" feature. In the meantime, you can delete the FlipFrames you want to discard, and make as many more as your heart desires! Once the "edit" feature becomes available, you can login and go back to steps 1, 2, or 3 to make changes or add more photos. All changes will automatically show up wherever you have this FlipFrame displayed, so you don't have to change the code every time you edit a FlipFrame.

Is there a limit to the number of FlipFrames I can make?
Nope. You can make as many FlipFrames as you'd like. In fact, by making more flip frames we hope to have more visitors to our sites. You can make vacation FlipFrames, your baby's first photo album, art portfolios, pet pics, buddy books, and more!
